Colour Time at Sunday Stamps

It’s Sunday, so it’s time to play Sunday Stamps. This week we have a bright and dramatic colour challenge for you to play along with –  red, black and hot pink.

For my card, I went a little dramatic (for me anyway!) and used more black than I usually do. I used one of the patterns from the Modern Medley DSP, as my background, and after I had my card done, my hubby said it looked like fish net stockings!  I guess that’s a compliment.

My card needed a little bling, so I used some Dazzling Details for the flower centres and some glimmer paper to help highlight the sentiment.

I can’t wait to see what fabulous creations you link up this time to Sunday Stamps. Just a few things to keep in mind before you do – although most of us are Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, we invite you to use any brand of products you like.  And since our challenges are open for two weeks (this one until Friday, September 6th at 6pm), there’s plenty of time to play along.

Hope  to see you in the gallery!

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock/DSP: Very Vanilla, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Basic Black, Modern Medley DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper

Ink: Basic Black

Stamp Sets: Secret Garden, Simply Sketched

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Oval Framelits, Secret Garden Framelits, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details

  1. What a stunning card with such rich, beautiful, eye-catching colours. Lovely! Thank you for your warm comments on my STB entries! I’m still a newcomer to all this, so your encouragement means more than you may realize! Oh yes – I was born in Ottawa (a zillion years ago!) and now live in Alberta. Wonderful to meet another Canadian in this gigantic, welcoming crafting community!

  2. I LOVE this card–the “fishnet” black background is wonderful!! The flowers are very pretty too! Thanks for the inspiration!
    🙂 Marie
