Blooms Just For You

 - by OttawaMom

My second post of the day – it’s been awhile since I’ve done that, lol! It’s going to be a quick one, so I can share the card I made using this week’s colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts, combined with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

The challenges:

08-14

My card:P1150915Isn’t that a pretty colour combo? I immediately thought of flowers when I saw it, so I pulled out the Bloom With Hope set to use as the focal point.  I actually embossed the blooms first, then coloured them with my Stampin’ Markers. Then I cut them out and mounted them to the tag, which I finished off with some ribbon.

I knew I wanted some sort of leaf to go with the flowers, so I used one of the stamps from the Bordering Blooms set, for the background strips and voila, I had my leaves.

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz

Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush, Versamark

Stamp Sets: Bloom With Hope, Work of Art, Bordering Blooms

Tools & Embellishments: Heat Tool, Black Emboss Powder, Gold Emboss Powder, Gold 1/8 Ribbon, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Flowerpot Birthday

It’s a new week, which means it’s time to play with a whole new crop of challenges! I have to say I am enjoying every minute of creating with all of these challenges – it’s certainly nice to have my mojo back.

I created today’s card for the new sketch challenge at Pals Paper Arts.

It wasn’t until I sat down to right this post, that I realized I used the wrong orange on my card.  It is Tangerine Tango in the DSP but I used one of the new In-Colours, Tangelo Twist. Thankfully they are so close in colour, that I think it still works. Besides I love that new Stitched Satin Ribbon and really wanted to use it!

Until tomorrow, thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock/DSP: Whisper White, Blushing Bride, Flowerpot DSP

Ink: Crushed Curry, Blushing Bride, Tangelo Twist

Stamp Sets: Flower Shop, Remembering Your Birthday

Tools & Embellishments: Pansy Punch, Tangelo Twist Stitched Satin Ribbon, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Super Hero Birthday!

 - by OttawaMom

It was a super rainy Sunday here yesterday, a perfect day for sitting in my craft room and playing along with a few challenges.

I have been looking for the perfect excuse to ink up the new Calling All Heroes stamp set and thought the colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts and the sketch at CAS – Colours & Sketches, were the perfect match for one.

It’s a fun stamp set, and was perfect for creating a Kid birthday card to add to my stash. But I did find some of the stamps hard to use, since they are so itty, bitty! Guess it will just take some more practice!

I would also like to link my card up with the “Anything Goes” challenge at Stampin’ Royalty.

Thanks for taking a look!
