Tag Archives: Betsy’s Blossoms

Well, today we woke up to another snowstorm (Spring, where are you?), so I decided to spend some time in my craft room to avoid having to go out to shovel!

Along with some DT cards I will be sharing with you this week, I managed to create a card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

P1150174Since I definitely don’t see any signs of Spring outside today, I decided to create some! This is what I wish was happening in my backyard right now – a little bird, sitting amongst the spring blossoms.  A girl can dream right?!

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe

Ink: Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar

Stamp Sets: Hardwood, Easter Blossoms (R), Betsy’s Blossoms

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Ruffle Stretch Trim, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Bright and Cheery

It’s a holiday Monday here in Ottawa and since the kids are off on a playdate, I thought I would take the opportunity to create a card for this week’s challenge at Sunday Stamps.

The challenge:

My card:

I love, love, love the colours Hayley chose for this week’s challenge! So bright and cheery, particularly on this dull and dreary day.

I pulled out the Betsy’s Blossoms stamp set and created my own DSP for the background and then just added a few embellishments here and there, to complete the look I wanted. I always associate Victoria Day weekend with planting in the garden and fireworks and this incorporates both!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Lucky Limeade, Whisper White

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, Daffodil Delight

Stamp Sets: Betsy’s Blossoms, Vintage Verses

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslits, Boho Blossoms Punch, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Daffodil Delight Seam Binding, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Baja Betsy

Even though it was a beautiful weekend and we spent sometime outside, I was also able to get some crafting done.  Not only did I create today’s card, but I also created some art for a silent auction being held at the kids’ school this week.  I plan to share that with you in a future post, as I am quite proud of what I created!

I was highly motivated to attempt the challenge at Dynamic Duos this week, as my friend Hayley Kew has been named to the Design Team as one of the new Dynamic Dynamos! She always inspires me with her designs and I am very excited to see what she and the rest of the Dynamic Dynamos come up with for us each week.

I also combined the colour challenge, with the sketch challenge from Seize the Birthday.

My card:

I pulled out a stamp set I haven’t played with for a while, Betsy’s Blossoms.  Spring is definitely having an influence over my cards lately and these are definitely spring colours.  Unlike some of the cards I created last week, I kept today’s very clean and simple. Again I used some retiring products, the Baja Breeze ink and seam binding and the Floral District DSP.  I am sad to see both of these going but am very excited to use some of the sneak peek products, that will hopefully be arriving on my door step in a couple of days.
