Teacher Gift Sets Part 1

 - by OttawaMom

Before the summer holidays began, I was a busy crafter and wanted to share with you some of my creations. Everyone knows that with the end of school comes the time when we have to think of some way to thank the teachers who have taught our children over the past year. Here are some of the gift sets I created for one of my clients, for her children to give to their teachers. Each set was a 3×3 box and came with 5 3×3 note cards with envelopes and a coordinating post-it note holder.

Another Challenge!

 - by OttawaMom

It’s Friday and the only thing that would make it better would be a little sunshine.  Hopefully that will happen sometime this weekend, otherwise I see a crafty weekend ahead.

I thought I was done with card challenges for the week, until I happened upon this fun one from The Paper Players .

I thought the Tic-Tac-Toe idea was so fun that I couldn’t resist entering the challenge. And I think the Bright Blossoms Gift Set I created this week, fits the diagonal Flowers – Your Choice – Designer Paper perfectly.

Here it is:

Thanks for taking a look.

Bright Blossoms

I have definitely been in a creative, making things with paper kind of mood this week and have a project that I came up with that I really wanted to share with you.

I took advantage of the Summer Smooches Promotion that Stampin’ UP! ran for the month of April, and purchased the new Bright Blossoms stamp set and Summer Smooches Designer Series Paper. I have been making various cards with these products but nothing I really liked as much as this:

Aren’t these sets super cute! I have always loved how well the Stampin’ UP! products coordinate so well with each other and now this set makes me love it even more.

The cards are 3 x 3 note cards and I thought the perfect way to showcase these cute little stamps would be the Oval Designer Frame Embossing Folder.  I just embossed the image and hand cut the oval. I also wanted these sets to be used for any occasion, so I didn’t include any sentiment on the cards.

With the second set of cards, I rounded the bottom edges of the card and DSP with the 3/16 Corner Punch. I don’t know what it is but I always seem to like a card better when it has some softer, rounded edges to it.

The coordinating box was super simple too.  I used a 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 piece of cardstock for the bottom (scored at 2″ on all four sides) and a 5 1/8 x 5 1/8 piece of DSP for the top (scored at 1″). I punched the edge of the top with the Scallop Edge Border Punch, because I found it too plain to leave it straight. I stamped the bottom of the box in the first set, before I put it together, but left the second box plain.  Not sure which one I like better.

I love how these turned out! Thanks for taking a look.
