Happy Birthday Blooms

Happy Sunday everyone! It’s time for a new two-week challenge at Sunday Stamps and this time we have a fabulous sketch for you.

There are so many ways this sketch can be interpreted but I decided to keep my card very simple and let those fabulous blooms from the Hostess Stamp Set, Bloom With Hope, stand out. I hadn’t originally intended to add any baker’s twine, but the card did look a little too plain without it.

Please do check out what my fellow DT members have created. I know you are going to be inspired by what they have come up with! Holly (creator)JoanMarieStephKathya and Angel.

And just to keep things fair, please remember that we do have a few rules. You can check them out here.

The deadline to submit your creation is Friday, July 25th, at 6pm (EST), so there’s plenty of time to play along!

Hope to see you in the gallery!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock/DSP: Garden Green, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White

Ink: Garden Green, Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Versamark

Stamp Set: Bloom with Hope

Tools & Embellishments: Subtles Candy Dots, Heat Tool, Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Crisp Cantaloupe Thick Baker’s Twine

Feeling Playful at Colour Me…!

We’re feeling a little playful this week at Colour Me…! and have a yummy colour combo for you to play along with – Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Baked Brown Sugar and Wild Wasabi.

Continuing with my efforts to master the CAS style, my inspiration for the layout of this card, came from this week’s challenge at The Challenge.

I tried really hard to keep this card clean and simple, with very little embellishments. I didn’t use any of my go-to tools like the big shot, punches or heat tool. I didn’t even use any Stampin’ Dimensionals – I go through those like crazy!! But I couldn’t resist scattering a candy dot or two, amongst the smudges.

This was a quick and easy card to put together and although I rarely use any of the Regal family of colours, they are slowing growing on me, lol!

Our challenge lasts for a week and will end on June 2nd, at 12:00pm (EST). And as with any challenge, there are a few rules – you can check them out here.

You must stop by Colour Me….!  and check out what the Design Team has come up with! I promise you won’t be disappointed! RosemaryHayleySam, TaraKatie, and LeAnne, our Featured Designer for this month.

Hope to see you in the gallery – I’m so excited to see what you all create this week!!!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Regal DSP Stack

Ink: Baked Brown Sugar, Wild Wasabi, Cajun Craze

Stamp Sets: Work of Art, Gorgeous Grunge

Tools & Embellishments: Candy Dots

Working on My CAS Style!

Good morning everyone and happy Monday!!  It was a relatively quiet weekend around here. Since the hubby and little one were away camping, I stole away to my craft room for a little while on Saturday, while my oldest had a friend over. It was bliss to have some time to myself to just craft!

I am finding it easier and easier to create cards that are clean and simple and I am really happy with this one! I combined the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch! with the colour combo at Color Throwdown and this is what I came up with:

The colour combo was just too pretty for me to resist putting flowers on my card and I am in love with that tiny floral image from the new set Something to Say!

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Pear Pizzazz, Whisper White

Ink: Tangerine Tango, Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz. Black Stazon

Stamp Sets: Flower Shop, Morning Meadow, Something to Say, Work of Art

Embellishments: Candy Dots
