Wish Big for Colour Me…!

It’s Wednesday, which means it’s time to play with another fun colour combo at Colour Me…! This is our Subtle week and we are working with Basic Grey, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.

Our challenge:

I really wanted to do something with a Back-to-School theme but I don’t seem to have any appropriate stamp sets that would work.  So, instead, I used a piece of the Schoolhouse DSP and went with a birthday theme.

I took the inspiration for the layout, from the current sketch challenge at CAS – Colours & Sketches.

The challenge will end on August 24th, at 12:00pm (EST). And as with any challenge, there are a few rules, to keep things fair – you can check them out here.

Hope to see you in the gallery!

Endless Birthday Cake!

Happy Thursday Stampers! It’s time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time, the sky is the limit as there are no “Toppings” options.

I am absolutely in love with the new Painted Petals DSP, that is in the Occasions catalogue and thought this particular pattern was very playful and perfect for a birthday card!

The cake image was stamped with StazOn ink in black and then I coloured it in using the Blender Pen, for a softer look.  Then I added a touch of the gold glitter for the flames on the candles; who doesn’t love a little sparkle on their birthday!

The inspiration for my card, comes from this week’s sketch at The Paper Player’s.

I tried my hand at a shaker card, for this challenge. I really wanted to use a lot of glitter and gold and thought a star shaker card would be perfect.  Next time, though, I am going to fill the shaker with a bit more glitz!

I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas, spent with family and friends.  Our challenge will remain open for three weeks over the holidays, until January 2nd, at 9pm EST, so there’s plenty of time to play along.

Please head on over to the Stampin’ Celebration blog and check out what my fellow DT members have created. I know you are going to love all of their creations!

And as with any challenge, there are a few rules to keep in mind:

  • Feel free to use any brand of product you may have in your Stash.
  • We ask that you create a new project for this challenge and add a link to our blog or use the challenge graphic in your post.
  • Please link directly to the post for this challenge, not your entire blog (so we can find your project better)
  • Please limit the combined challenges on your project to no more then 4 including ours.
  • And Have Fun!!!

Hope to see you in the gallery!
