Blushing Bride

I absolutely loved the colour challenge this week at Dynamic Duos and I combined it with one of the challenges at The Friday Mashup, to create a Wedding card.

The challenges:

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using “Hexagons”.
  2. Create a “Girly project”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Girly project using Hexagons”.

My card:

As soon as I saw that Blushing Bride and Soft Suede were the colours for this week’s challenge, I knew I wanted to use the Love & Laughter stamp set. I also knew I wanted a white dress on a pink background, which meant breaking out my trusty heat tool, since I don’t own any white ink.  And  I do love to emboss! So I heat embossed the dress onto the cardstock, cut it out with my paper snips and propped it up onto the white background.

To me,  pink is a very  “girly” colour  (it’s one of my favourites!) and the added embellishments of flowers, ribbon and bling add to that “girly” factor. What girl doesn’t love a little bling – I know this girl does!

This is one card that could be given to the bride-to-be at her wedding shower, or given to the couple on their wedding day.

Thanks for taking a look!

Print Poetry Mashup!

My post today is all about this week’s challenge at the Friday Mashup. I used one of my absolute favourite Designer Series Papers to create my set of cards for today, Print Poetry DSP.

The challenge:

My cards:

For this week’s challenge we were invited to “create a card using the sketch” or to “create a set of cards” or to Mash it Up and create a “set of cards using the sketch”.  I love this DSP so much that I just had to Mash it Up and create a set of cards using the sketch. They each are very different but also have common elements such as the embossed background, sentiment and embellishments. I really can’t decide which one is my favourite.

Thanks for taking a look!

Fall Mashup

What a whirlwind the past month has been!  It’s been busy, but now that the kids are back into a comfortable, school / home routine, it’s time for me to get back to crafting.

I have many, many card challenges that show up in my blog reader every week and I always seem to run out of time to attempt each one.  But as soon as I saw the challenge for the Friday Mashup, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

This week we were challenged to make a “Fall Leaves” inspired project, or one using twine or to “Mash-it-Up” and do both.

I challenged myself to do both. My card:

I don’t have many fall themed stamp sets, so I knew I wanted to use the fall stamp from the Hostess Set – Four Seasons. I don’t usually use a lot of red when designing card but I stepped out of my comfort zone with this one and I love the results. I think I know exactly who the lucky recipient of this card is going to be!
