Tall and Skinny for STB!

Happy Thursday everyone!

It’s time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time our “Toppings” option, is Tall and Skinny! And of course, if “Toppings are not your thing, it is always “Anything Goes” at Seize the Birthday!

My card:

DSCN0362I must confess that this was the first time I have ever tried a “Tall and Skinny” card! I thought it might be hard to fill all that ‘skinny’ space but once I settled on a stamp set, it was pretty easy and I am quite happy with the results.

Since we are still not experiencing any ‘Spring-like” weather here in Ottawa, I had to go with a floral theme again. I am beginning to wonder if we will ever see new growth ever again – although the weather forecast for the weekend sounds promising, but you never know!

As always, our challenge is open for two weeks, until April 21st, so there’s lots of time to link up your creations – you can check out our challenge rules here.

I don’t know about you, but coming up with something ‘manly’ can sometimes be a challenge!  So you’ve got to check out what my fellow Design Team members have come up with!  Truly inspirational! NancyGlendaColleen, HannelieSharynJodeneJoAnnMarzenaShirley and Anni!

We can’t wait to see what you create!!!

Sure hope you will join the party!

Sketch Time at Seize the Birthday!

Happy Thursday Stampers! It’s time for a new challenge at Seize the Birthday and this time we are trying some a bit different, with a fun sketch as our “Toppings” option. But remember, if “Toppings” is not your thing, it’s always “Anything Goes” at Seize the Birthday!

Pretty Blue Wedding

It may still be summer, but it has felt more like fall the past couple of days. It’s been cool and not-stop raining, which has left us finding things to do indoors. So what’s a girl to do but get in the craft room and craft!

The card I’d like to share with you today, is one I created using the current “Wedding” challenge at The Card Concept, combined with this week’s sketch challenge at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday.

My card:

P1150893

I really wish it had been nice and sunny today, so I could take the picture of my card outside.  The Silver Foil card stock is so shiny, that it was hard to take the picture with a flash – did the best I could, lol!

I was inspired by those pretty blue and whites in the Wedding inspiration photo, to create a Clean and Layered card. The Big Shot got a work out with this one, as there really is not a lot of stamping, just a lot of layers.

I started with a base of Pool Party, then a layer of Whisper White. Then I ran another piece of the Pool Party through the Big Shot with the Lovely Lace EF and cut it into strips. The focal point is a layer of the Silver Foil card stock, then a Pool Party layer and finally the sentiment layer.

I didn’t have any buttons that would work for the sketch, so I substituted a big, white bow, with ribbon that I imagined a bride might have wrapped around her bouquet.

Thanks for taking a look!
