Splatter for Seize the Birthday!

Happy Thursday everyone!  It’s time for another great challenge at Seize the Birthday! But before we get to the challenge, some news. The  Design Team has decided to start a new feature at STB by inviting a Surprise Party Guest to join us each month.

SurprisePartyGuest GraphicFun, right! So keep joining us each week, and you too could be a Surprise Party Guest!

And now onto the challenge. This time our “Toppings” option is Splatter.  But of course, if “Toppings” is not your thing, it is always anything goes here at Seize the Birthday!

My card:

DSCN1108I am very low on birthday cards for kids, so thought the splatter option would be perfect.  I chose some very bright and happy colours and had a lot of fun creating the background! I topped once I had the card together, it wasn’t looking as festive as I would have liked, so I added the bow.

I used the current sketch at Sweet Sunday Sketch, as the inspiration for the layout.

Now that the weather is finally getting a little cooler, I thought it was time to start creating cards with a Fall theme.  I haven’t really had a chance to play with any of the new products in the Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalogue yet, so thought this sketch would be perfect!

The circle layer was cut from a piece of the Into the Woods DSP and to keep the Fall theme going, I stamped the leaves using a stamp from the Perpetual Birthday set. To finish things off, I added a couple of the Into the Woods Elements, that I coloured to match.

Our challenge is open until Friday, October 2nd, at 9pm EST, so there’s plenty of time to play along.

Please head on over to the Stampin’ Celebration blog and check out what my fellow DT members have created. I know you are going to love all of their creations!

And as with any challenge, there are a few rules to keep in mind:

  • Feel free to use any brand of product you may have in your Stash.
  • We ask that you create a new project for this challenge and add a link to our blog or use the challenge graphic in your post.
  • Please link directly to the post for this challenge, not your entire blog (so we can find your project better)
  • Please limit the combined challenges on your project to no more then 4 including ours.
  • And Have Fun!!!

Hope to see you in the gallery!
