Thinking of You

I am combining two challenges for today’s card, a sketch challenge from Create with Connie and Mary with the colour challenge from Pals Paper Arts.

The challenges:

CCMC255

PrimroseGumballWhite

 My card: P1140199

Notice anything wrong with my card?  I didn’t until this post was almost finished – I used Very Vanilla instead of the Whisper White the challenge called for! I’m blaming it on not enough caffeine today!!

Oh well, I decided to go with it, as is, because I really like how it came out and because I am using one of my favourite DSPs, Print Poetry, which has Very Vanilla in it.  Primrose Petals and Gumball Green are so pretty together and I knew I wanted a floral focal point on the banner, so I used one of my favourite stamp sets, Secret Garden.

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock/DSP: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green, Very Vanilla, Print Poetry DSP

Ink: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green

Stamp Sets: Secret Garden, Embellished Events

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Secret Garden Framelits, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearl Jewel, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Make a Cake

My niece has a birthday coming up in June, so I took the opportunity to use this week’s sketch at Pals Paper Arts, to make her card.

The challenge:

PPA159w-frame

My card:

I couldn’t resist making this a very girly card with lots of pink and bling, after all, who doesn’t like a little sparkle in their life.  I loved this sketch and thought it was a perfect one to showcase the cake from the Make a Cake stamp set. Can’t wait to give this to my niece!

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Print Poetry DSP, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals

Ink: Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple

Stamp Sets: Itty Bitty Banners, Make a Cake

Tools & Embellishments: Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon, Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch

Freshly Made Flower

I fell in love with the sketch Amy created for this week’s Freshly Made Sketches challenge, as soon as I saw it!  And you really ought to stop by and check out what all the design team members have done with the sketch, as they are all amazing creations.

The challenge:

My card:

Try as I might to make over the top, highly embellished creations, they always seem to turn out as frumpy, big messes.  So since I am far better at making clean and simple cards, this sketch was absolutely perfect for me.

I love the Best of Flowers stamp set that came out back in March, I seem to use it quite a lot, so I thought this sketch would highlight one of the flowers perfectly. I stamped the image in Crumb Cake and then used my blender pen to colour it in. I stamped it again, coloured it and then used my paper snips to cut out just the flower. You can’t tell from the picture but I propped it up with a dimensional.
