Easter Basket

My second card of the day, features the colour challenge at colourQ (this is my first time, giving this one a try!) with the fabulous sketch from Create with Connie and Mary.

P1150225I loved the colour combo that the team at colourQ came up with this week, so I was thrilled when I discovered I had kept a bit of the retired, River Rock card stock, in my stash.  I also pulled out one of my favourite, retired stamp sets, Easter Blossoms.

It’s a beautiful sunny day today, so I am off to take advantage of this, dare I say, Spring like weather!

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Whisper White, Primrose Petals, River Rock (R)

Ink: Pool Party, Primrose Petals, Calypso Coral

Stamp Set: Easter Blossoms

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Lattice Embossing Folder, Circle Collection Framelits, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Ruffle Stretch Trim

Springtime?

Well, today we woke up to another snowstorm (Spring, where are you?), so I decided to spend some time in my craft room to avoid having to go out to shovel!

Along with some DT cards I will be sharing with you this week, I managed to create a card for this week’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches.

P1150174Since I definitely don’t see any signs of Spring outside today, I decided to create some! This is what I wish was happening in my backyard right now – a little bird, sitting amongst the spring blossoms.  A girl can dream right?!

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe

Ink: Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar

Stamp Sets: Hardwood, Easter Blossoms (R), Betsy’s Blossoms

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Little Leaves Sizzlits, Itty Bitty Punch Pack, Ruffle Stretch Trim, Pearl Basic Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Sweet Zoo Babies

Today’s card is one I created for this week’s sketch challenge at Create with Connie and Mary.

One fun thing about crafting in someone else’s crafting space, as I had fun doing on Friday night, is the opportunity to use tools or stamp sets you don’t own yourself.  Zoo Babies is one such stamp set, and I couldn’t resist using it for this fun sketch.

Since I seem to have been using a lot of flowers lately, I decided to switch things up and use circles instead. Then, rather than layering them with card stock, I wrapped some of the Ruffle Stretch Trim around the edge. I like how it gives the card a little more texture and makes the images ‘pop’ a little more.

Thanks for taking a look!
