Floral Card in a Box

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for a new two-week challenge at Seize the Birthday. And this time, the sky is the limit, as there is no “Topping” option.  We also have a Design Team member who is celebrating a birthday – Happy Birthday Jodene!

Our challenge:

My card:

This seems to be my week for trying new techniques.  I have seen many, many Cards in a Box all over the internet and have wanted to try one for a long time. So with my mother celebrating a special birthday this week, I thought now would be the perfect opportunity.

I found a very helpful YouTube video by Mommy Stamper, on how to create the template, and then the fun of decorating began!

I used Sweet Sorbet DSP on the flaps and bottom panels and then filled the box with blooms from the Flower Shop and Petite Petals stamp sets. The possibilities really are endless with this fun shaped card, and I will definitely try it again!

As always, our challenge is open for two weeks, until May 6th, so there’s lots of time to link up your creations – you can check out our challenge rules here.

My fellow Design Team members have also created some fabulous samples, to inspire you with, so be sure to stop by Seize the Birthday and check them out – NancyGlendaColleenSusieSharynJodeneJoAnnMarzenaJanet and Shirley. We can’t wait to see what you create!!!

Sure hope you will join the party!

Birthday Flowers for Seize the Birthday!

Happy Thursday everyone! Can you believe it’s time for another Seize the Birthday challenge already? Seems the last two weeks have just flown by!!

Our challenge:

I pulled out one of my favourite DSP’s, Gingham Garden, for this card.  It was cold and blustery, the day I created it, so I thought it would be nice to create something bright and cheery. And who doesn’t like to get flowers on their birthday!

Our challenge is open for two weeks, until November 5th, so there’s lots of time to link up your creations – you can check out our challenge rules here.

My fellow Design Team members have also created some fabulous samples, to inspire you with, so be sure to stop by Seize the Birthday and check them out.  We can’t wait to see what you create!!! GlendaCalypsoColleen,  JoAnn BJennyJodeneMacarenaNancy Sheri

Primrose Petals for Atlantic Hearts

The ladies over at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge have a fun sketch for us to play along with this week.

The challenge:

My card:

I love creating cards with lots of flowers, so this sketch was perfect for me.

It did take me a while to get the flowers in just the right arrangement. I originally started out with 5 large ones, but it just didn’t look right.   So I ended up with this combination of small and large flowers.

Thanks for taking a look!

Ink: Primrose Petals, Blushing Bride

Stamp Sets: Morning Meadow, Secret Garden

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Secret Garden Framelits, Pansy Punch, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Pear Basic Jewels, Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals
