White on White Birthday

It’s Thursday, which means it’s time for a new two-week challenge at Seize the Birthday. This time we are including a “Toppings” option of White on White.

Our challenge:

P1150211

When I think of white on white cards, I always think wedding, so this was a slight challenge for me.

But it was also a great time to get out some of the tools and embellishments that have been collecting dust in my craft room, and create something a little fancier than I normally do. It really was a lot of fun!

As always, our challenge is open for two weeks, until April 22nd, so there’s lots of time to link up your creations – you can check out our challenge rules here.

My fellow Design Team members have also created some fabulous samples, to inspire you with, so be sure to stop by Seize the Birthday and check them out – NancyGlendaColleenSusieSharynJodeneJoAnn (taking a break), MarzenaJanet and Shirley. We can’t wait to see what you create!!!

Sure hope you will join the party!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock/DSP: Whisper White, Vellum

Ink: Versamark

Stamp Sets: Peaceful Petals, Simply Sketched

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Modern Mosaic EF, Secret Garden Framelits, Large Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Heat Tool, Early Espresso Emboss Powder, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Stampin Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Spring Petals

I am really beginning to think that Spring is never going to come! We woke up to -15 degree weather this morning and although the shine is shining, it definitely feels nothing like Spring outside!!

Thanks goodness for this week’s Spring colours challenge at Pals Paper Arts – at least it can feel like Spring in my craft room. I paired the colour challenge with the sketch challenge at CAS(E) this Sketch!

As I sat down to create this card, I realized that I have never used the colour Rose Red. I really have no idea why, because it is so pretty. Definitely going to have to remember to use it more often.

Thanks for taking a look!

Little Blue Bird

It’s been awhile since I have played with the Fusion Card Challenge, but I couldn’t miss the opportunity to create with this fabulous sketch.

The challenge:

My card:P1150073

This is another card from the girls crafting night last Friday. I don’t own the Circle Framelits yet, so it was great to have a set I could borrow for this sketch.

I knew I wanted to use this particular pattern from the Sweet Sorbet DSP, because it’s such so darn pretty, I just didn’t know what image to use as the focal point.  I decided to go with the sweet little bird from the Simply Sketched stamp set and then I finished the card off with that fabulous Pool Party twine. A clean and simple card, perfect for saying thanks!

Thanks for taking a look!
