Freshly Made Mashup

Yay for long weekends! I hope everyone’s weekend is off to a fabulous start. I’m taking a little gardening break to share a card I made for two challenges – the Friday Mashup and Freshly Made Sketches.

I received my sneak peek order and new catalogue this week and couldn’t wait to dive in and create something using the new Floral District DSP. It’s all gorgeous, so I had a hard time deciding which pattern to use!

My card:

Now it’s back to the garden! Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card stock / DSP: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry, Summer Smooches DSP and Floral District DSP

Ink: Rich Razzleberry

Stamp set: Tea Shoppe

Tools & Embellisments: Modern Label Punch, Eyelet Border Punch, Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Stampin’ Dimensionals

A Little Mojo

It’s Friday, finally, and the start of a busy weekend around here.  So before things get crazy around here, I want to share with you, my entry for the Mojo Monday challenge.

This week’s challenge:

My card:

I’ll be honest, I struggled with this sketch and almost threw in the towel and gave up for the week.  But that’s why it’s called a challenge!  I set it aside for a day, came back to it and now I think I’m pretty happy with what I was able to come up with.

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock/DSP: Whisper White, Island Indigo, Tempting Turquoise, Summer Smooches DSP

Stamp Set: Bright Blossoms

Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade

Tools & Embellishments: Big Shot, Stripes Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Circle Cutter (non SU)

Freshly Made Duos

I’ve got another card to share with you today. It’s one I created  by combining two challenges – Freshly Made Sketches which is a sketch challenge and, a brand new one I found called, Dynamic Duos, that is a colour challenge.

I loved the sketch and having to use only two colours (neutrals are allowed) to create my card was certainly a challenge but that’s the point. I join these challenges in order to keep the creative juices flowing and occasionally go outside of my own creative style. And I also love to see how other people interrupt a sketch or colour challenge because really, there is no right or wrong way to do it.

My card:

This card may be simple but it’s clean and crisp and that’s what I love about it. The chevron pattern is part of the Summer Smooches DSP, that will be available beginning June 1st. I have never been a big fan of any chevron pattern, but I decided to try this one anyway, since it has the Lucky Limeade colour required for the challenge. Now I’m glad I did!

Thanks for taking a look!
