Lots of Love for Colour Me…!

Since yesterday was Back-to-School for most people, I think this week’s inspiration photo, at Colour Me….!, is very appropriate.  This is our Striking Week and we are working with Real Red and Lost Lagoon.

Our challenge:

CMCC Full Graphics-011My card:

DSCN1029

I went with a heart theme and was pleasantly surprised at how well our two challenge colours went with it!

For the layout of my card, I decided to play along with this week’s challenge at RetroSketches and used their fabulous sketch!

My fellow Design Team members have also created some fabulous samples, so be sure to stop by Colour Me….! and check them out. We can’t wait to see what you create!!! Antonia, Bhavana, Hayley, Jinny, Julia, Kim, Ren, Tara, Valentyna, and Wendi (our lovely Guest Designer for September).

The challenge will end on September 14th, at 12:00pm (EST). And as with any challenge, there are a few rules, to keep things fair – you can check them out here.

Hope to see you in the gallery!

Blooms Just For You

My second post of the day – it’s been awhile since I’ve done that, lol! It’s going to be a quick one, so I can share the card I made using this week’s colour challenge at Pals Paper Arts, combined with the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

The challenges:

08-14

My card:P1150915Isn’t that a pretty colour combo? I immediately thought of flowers when I saw it, so I pulled out the Bloom With Hope set to use as the focal point.  I actually embossed the blooms first, then coloured them with my Stampin’ Markers. Then I cut them out and mounted them to the tag, which I finished off with some ribbon.

I knew I wanted some sort of leaf to go with the flowers, so I used one of the stamps from the Bordering Blooms set, for the background strips and voila, I had my leaves.

Thanks for taking a look!

Here’s what I used:

Card Stock: Whisper White, Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Pear Pizzazz

Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush, Versamark

Stamp Sets: Bloom With Hope, Work of Art, Bordering Blooms

Tools & Embellishments: Heat Tool, Black Emboss Powder, Gold Emboss Powder, Gold 1/8 Ribbon, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Work of Art Birthday

The inspiration for today’s card, comes from the challenges at:

Clean & Simply Stamping – Sketch #300!

 Fab Friday Stampin’ Challenge #46

My card:P1150725

This was such a bright and cheerful colour combo that I just had to play it up and create a fun birthday card and what better stamp set to use, then Work of Art.

The large sentiment comes from the Another Great Year stamp set and I added some fun sequins (although I am finding it very hard to get a good picture with them!!) to finish it off.

Thanks for taking a look!
